POYNETTE — In April 2025, Leah White and her aunt moved into an apartment in the new Point Gardens, an 80-acre development just beyond Dane County’s borders in neighboring Columbia County. White said she was seeking housing at an affordable price point and a community that felt safe, healthy and connected.Her window overlooks a courtyard of community gardens that have yet to awaken, but they’re beautiful during the growing season, she said. White has cultivated tomatoes, strawberries, lettuce and rhubarb.

“I moved into this brand new apartment a few months ago and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The quality of the apartment, especially considering it is new construction, which is always a challenge, is exceptional. It is thoughtfully laid out-the kitchen dining room layout is my favorite, my huge closet is an amazing perk, and my own attached garage is a game changer. All for an extremely reasonable price! Dawn, the property manager is amazing-polite, super responsive and is always trying to do fun things with the tenants to make it more of a home than just an apartment. Biggest highlight for me is being able to have my dog, especially in such a high quality apartment, that is usually not the case in my experience. Suffice to say, I am thrilled about finding this apartment and would highly recommend to anyone!”

I could not be more pleased with my living experience here. It has made me find a new liking for this community and town. I love how intentional Dawn is to create sustainable living for her tenants and I am hopeful to be apart of the new community here where my daughter is able to find friends to grow up with. Having a landlord who truly cares about the tenants and is passionate about creating a community is very special. The apartments themselves are bright, airy, and brand new. Simple, but purposeful. I have nothing but good things to say about living here. It’s also a positive to have a garage attached to our apartment with a private entrance!”
